Horns (the movie)

My inside sources were able to provide me with an advanced copy of the film adaptation of Horns. Yeah, I know – I’m kind of a big deal. Commoners won’t be able to see the film until this coming Friday (October 31st). Actually, it was available for early rental on Amazon Prime; I guess that’s somewhat comparable to having an exclusive inside source. I have been eagerly awaiting the release of this film for some time, so when I stumbled across it, I rented it immediately. My unsurprising assessment? The book was better. Horns by Joe Hill

Joe Hill is Stephen King’s son. Apparently, he vaguely attempted to conceal this fact by disguising his last name, but one look at his author photo immediately reveals the truth: the man looks just like his father. 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill

I think it is safe to say that in spite of the pseudonym, everyone knows who Joe Hill’s daddy is. That’s right – my favorite contemporary author himself, Stephen King. I’m sure this wasn’t a big secret for long; anyone who looks at the author photo on the back of Heart Shaped Box can detect a not-so-subtle family resemblance. I was curious about Joesph Hillstrom King because of his famous genes. He’s definitely no Stephen King, but his stories are far from disappointing. Continue reading “20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill”
