The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

Disappointment yet again. Why do I constantly get in these ruts of reading terrible books back-to-back-to-back? The Goldfinch didn’t start out bad. In fact, I tremendously enjoyed the first 3/4 of the novel. It was exactly 3/4, because this was an Audible read and it was broken into four parts. At over 30 hours in length, this novel was quite a commitment, and although I am fortunate that only 25% of it was complete garbage, the pure fecal quality of that small portion rendered the entire book pointless. After an entire season of setup, I really could have done without another setup episode. You did it to me again, Walking Dead. I was disappointed last season, but in my heart, I believed that you would redeem yourself in the season premiere. I can’t believe I fell for it again.
